MARKETING THE PROFESSION OF RESPIRATORY CARE

Utilize career information packets for distribution to the American School Counselor Association and pursue staffing a booth at one of their meetings in North Carolina.
Collaborate with North Carolina's Respiratory Therapy Program Directors to pursue additional methods to aid in student recruitment.
Pursue public relations efforts to become more visible in community health issues such as public health screenings with the National Lung Health Education Program.

Utilize the web page to advertise and provide direction for ongoing educational credits for the membership.
Utilize the web page as a tool to facilitate public education on topics relating to the practice and profession of Respiratory Care.
Utilize the web page for communication to members with the NCSRC Reporter, PACT updates, meeting minutes, and pertinent links.
Promote increased input and articles from the membership for the NCSRC Reporter.

Have at least one representative from the NCSRC at all NC Respiratory Care Board public meetings and report updates to membership.
Promote Advanced Level Examination by the NBRC

Continue to develop the NCSRC Annual Symposium into a quality educational opportunity for the practitioners and students of the profession.
Continue to partner with other educational groups (NCARE, AHEC, ALA) to provide one-day educational seminars and workshops
throughout the state.

Investigate the potential need for other locations across NC to allow for expanded attendance for the NCSRC Annual Symposium.

Utilize the services of NC State Watch to keep informed of current legislation and communicate updates to membership.
Promote COPD month initiatives by the AARC.
Expand communication with the Fiscal Intermediary Medical Director regarding health care issues.
Maintain contact with federal, state, and local congressional delegates.
Expand the PACT committee.
Hold one Capitol Day to provide lung function screenings at the Legislative Building and coordinate with Representative visits.

Increase membership of the NCSRC by 10% this year.
Provide on-site recruitment presentations by the society officers and BOD to all student educational programs throughout the state, coordinated by the Vice President of the NCSRC.
Each BOD member to contact the Respiratory Care Department managers of hospitals and home health agencies of their region to provide membership information for their staff.
