STUDENT ACTIVITIES AT THE 2026 ANNUAL SYMPOSIUM IN GREENSBORO, NC

NCSRC Symposium Student Track Highlights:

  • Sputum Bowl:
    • Preliminaries: Thursday 9:30 AM to12:45 PM 
    • Final Competition: Thursday at 7:00 PM
  • Duke Health Workshop: Thursday morning to 12:45 PM (exact start time TBD)
  • 4 Student-Centered Lectures: 2 on Thursday and 2 on Friday (see attached schedule[s] for times and details)
  • Q&A Panel Discussion: Friday from 11:15 AM – 12:15 PM
    • Students can submit questions anonymously ahead of time or ask them live during the session.
    • Please submit all anonymous questions via the link here: Anonymous Question Submission Form
  • Scavenger Hunt: Friday from 9:00 AM – 1:15 PM
    • Completed entries earn prizes, and the first person to finish wins the grand prize!

  • General Symposium Access: Students are also welcome to attend all professional lectures and visit the vendor hall.

Important Registration & Venue Details:

  • Early Registration Required: Please register on the NCSRC Website prior to Friday, September 11th. Registering early ensures accurate headcount numbers for food orders and prevents delays and possible issues on the day of the event.
  • Student Registration Fee: $50 flat rate (applies regardless of total attendance days or AARC/NCSRC membership status – though joining is still highly encouraged!).
  • There is a unique link for the colleges that are paying for their student registrations through SGA or some other funding.•Bulk Student Funded Payment Link
  • Room Capacity: The room allocated for student events (excluding Sputum Bowl preliminaries) holds 50–60 people. Students are encouraged to explore the main professional lectures and vendor hall if space becomes limited.
  • In-Person Student Track Details: Student Track events are only guaranteed for in-person attendees and cannot be guaranteed for distance/virtual attendees.
  • Student Support Table: A support table will be available on site during the symposium for questions and scavenger hunt submissions (location TBD).
